TASTING OF TAPAS AND WINES

PLAZA DE GAÑANIAS IN PLAYA DE MOGÁN

Why do mangoes and avocados taste so much better in Mogán than at home?

The unique micro-climate of the valley of Mogán makes it possible to cultivate these tropical fruits and give them a unique character. Mogán is just a small area and does not produce great quantities for export. Much of the “fresh” produce imported by the supermarkets of northern Europe is harvested so that it ripens in transit or in storage at its destination. Whereas in Mogán the fruit is ripened on the trees until it is ready to be eaten, giving the mangoes and avocados their very special and intense flavour.

On 4th August 2017a new law was published to regulate discharges to the sewage system.

Last Friday 21st of july 2017, the mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, blamed the hotels and restaurants of Playa de Mogán, for the bad smells in this very popular village for tourists in the South of Gran Canaria. According to her, we are discharging used fat in our kitchens directly into the sewerage system.
